The fashion designer of gorgeous couture dresses Azzedine Alaïa launched his first perfume Alaïa in 2015, a leather scent based on the contrast between cool and hot, oriental notes. The fragrance was inspired by the designer’s memories of his childhood spent in Tunisia, like water poured over hot brick walls.
Alaïa Blanche is inspired by the designer’s visit to the fortress of Alhambra in Granada in the south of Spain. People who worked on the creation include Carla Sozzani, the famous editor of Italian Vogue and founder of the brand 10 Corso Como, designer Martin Szekely and fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.
The composition is created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, who is also behind the original: “The bottle design is elegant and simple, inspired by contemporary art. We wanted to focus on a minimalist design, black and white, with this symbol of opposition and attraction between men and women.”
The elegant glass bottle has kept the shape and design of the original, only instead of black, it comes in white with letters in nude.
